  Last week I dumbly plugged a basement space heater into an extension cord that was plugged into a ceiling socket. All the overhead lights blew out in the basement, but the circuit wasn't tripped. The plug servicing a washer and dryer on the same circuit still works. Any recs for an electrician who could figure this out? I had an electrician friend swing by briefly and he said there is power coming out of all the circuits in the main box, but he didn't have the time to trace the problem. It is getting old doing laundry by flashlight, so hoping to find a skilled and trustworthy person to help fix things! Thanks!
