  My husband was involved in a car accident in Birmingham. He was not at fault and we just found out the lady's insurance policy is lapsed. The officer who filled out the accident report did not indicate that her policy was lapsed. So, my questions are 1) can we call & complain about the officer b/c he knew that her insurance was lapsed & 2) are there any reasonable lawyers in town that can help us get the damages paid for? We only have liability on our vehicle so going through our insurance is not an option. I have called this lady and she is not returning the calls.
