  we just moved to the mars area and have a very old cocker spaniel who needs groomed. He is very shy and needs a place that will take their time and be patient with him. He's a sweet dog but just needs gentle and loving hands. Does anyone have recommendations or name of places to absolutely avoid?

  I would totally avoid Petsmart on 228. Took my otherwise happy Golden Retriever there twice who was previously fine with groomers. Since his experience there, he is deathly afraid of groomers. Was told by several former employees and others with credibility that they are known for rushing and subsequently hurting their animals. I'd recommend Furever Green also. She's great! Also, My Dog in Evans City if you don't mind the drive.

  Fur ever green in Mars in the same strip has Jimmy's. She does tons on big dogs and does not crate dry them either.all natural shampoos and conditioners .She is very reasonabe in price too. If you ask to stay to help with your dog she is usaully ok. Just ask Annette Puzzo Heller she is the owner/groomer. Just make your appointment ahead she is usually 3 weeks out. 724 991 9212

  I love them at My Dog too, the folks there are super sweet. If you are looking for a calmer shop for older or frightened pups FurEver Green is a good option for that.
