About us

Sandwich IL area photographer capturing memories of families, babies, children, maternity, head shots, individuals and high school seniors. Both natural light and in our new studio.

My name is Tina Kott. I grew up and live in Sandwich, Illinois with my husband Dan and our two crazy West Highland Terriers, Dodger and Champ. We have four children who are all young adults. I am a 911 Supervisor (20+ years) when I’m not taking photos. You may even find me teaching a Zumba class now and again. I enjoy checking out Facebook and Pinterest. I can crochet and lately I’ve made cute little hats/props for newborns. I probably drink too much diet coke and always use my iphone app to help me count calories. We try to walk the crazy Westies daily, at least a mile. We love to take cruises but that’s been put on hold until the kids are through college. I love football and love the Chicago Bears, despite my husband being a Steelers fan.

I love all things that are colorful. The walls in my house look like a Crayola Box. I have one room dedicated solely to the Wizard of Oz, since there’s no place like home. We own a tandem bicycle and regularly get strange looks as we pedal through town. If we could figure out how to attach side cars, we’d take the Westies with us. I own many Vera Bradley bags, some might say too many. Did I mention we have a huge Bobble Head collection too? My colorful walls are covered in family photos, mostly taken by me. I am a huge Rick Springfield fan and often attend his concerts when he’s in the Midwest. I always look forward to the future and can’t wait to get there, full steam ahead!

I love photographing newborns. The ideal age is less then 12 days old and sleepy babies. But with a little patience you can get amazing images of all little ones. The newborn session is easily a two hour session. Lots of care taken to make sure your baby is comfortable and safe. No rushing, we take our time and only shoot the images when... show more
you and your child are ready.
We’re looking to set up maternity shoots with Mom (yes, you’re gorgeous) before the baby and then follow up with your newborn once you’re new baby has arrived.

I’m a Mom too. I have four children who are all young adults. I’m looking forward to being a grandma someday. I have been gathering together lots of fun props to use during your child’s session and I love the idea of you bringing along items that are important to you as well.

Don’t have a newborn? That’s Ok too. I love taking photos of all the little ones. I have all the patience in the world. I’m anxious to shoot a 1 year old “cake smash” too.

High School Senior images are so much fun to take. I love to scope out interesting and fun places that make for amazing photos. You can plan for at least 1.5 hours. Outfit changes are encouraged. Wear what makes you feel comortable, bring an outfit you know your parents will love and if you’re in a sport/activity bring something associated with that as well. We’ll talk and match the outfit to the location.

Family images are so much fun. Families spend so much time together day in and day out but not a lot of togetherness until you start taking photos. They put down their gadets/cell phones and then their really together! Watch the personalities shine through. I love spending time with families and creating images they’ll have forever. show more
