‘Just Ittefaaq’ :
Formed just by ‘ittefaaq’ , this project is a pre destined coming together of two young like-minded artists - a mother and daughter, skilled in their individual fortes. They have a common goal to free themselves from the umbrage of any specific genre.
Keen on using unconventional instruments to express themselves and Inspired mostly by folk and Sufi music, they present melodies that appeal to one and all. With Polly Saghera as their lyricist, the field is extensive and does not stop at any particular language either.
Passionate about traveling and music, the lead singer and director of this project, Jasleen Aulakh believes in singing along as she goes places. Having performed so far in various cities in India and overseas, for project ‘Just Ittefaaq’, it seems even the sky is not the limit.
True to its name, this project formed par hasard with a daughter discovering her mother's diary, has been active since December 2011. Despite its recent origin, the project has become a favourite with many music lovers and is being popularly described as the ‘home team’.
