  My camper van insurance with Adrian Flux is coming up for renewal in a few weeks time. I pay £70 a month because it is my only vehicle and I use it to commute to work as a self employed person. I went with Andria Flux because they were the only ones who I could find at the time who would insure me. They have not required me to reregister it as a camper van with the dvla so it’s still classified as a commercial vehicle. I suspect that my new premiums might be significantly increased and I will only be told this just before the renewal. Any recommendations on alternative insurance companies?

  Called Admiral last week to cancel my panel van insurance. They told me that they could insure it as a camper. I let them know all the changes and told them that the V5 was with the DVLA. They said they could insure it for £39 on top of my current insurance. They said all I had to do is call them when my V5 came back with motor caravan on it and that would be it sorted. The v5 came back today so I gave them a call to let them know the body type was now updated. They said that's fine and then said they would charge my card an extra £419.

  Insurance Question! Does anyone know of an Insurance company that will insure a self build camper, mid build? My current insurance company will only insure as a commercial vehicle (for personal and domestic use) and once a camper conversion starts this policy will no longer be valid. They will however insure as a motorhome once the logbook has been amended by the DVLA, this will obviously leave a period when the van will be uninsured, which is a problem. Thanks in advance.
