Good cheese? Odd question maybe.
Lived in Europe for a bit and I'm really missing the good cheese that could be found everywhere there. Wondering if anybody knows if a good shop to get farmhouse cheeses, goatsmilk cheese, etc. Also a good bakery for fresh breads if you know one. The closest I've found is the big HEBs, but they're not quite there.
I'm out towards Katy, but pretty much get around anywhere on the west half from downtown.

Dairy Maids is best but not even close to what you can get in Europe. Too many restrictions on unpasteurized cheese in US. Which after watching recent PBS documentary “The Poison Squad” , I understand now. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it. Was very entertaining and informative.
Good morning. Does any one know where I can buy cheese curds in Houston?

I use theirs for our poutine at The Maple Leaf Pub. If you want more than a little you'll need to order it in advance. Additionally, I can always sell you some too (1-3 pounds). I get them 10 pounds at a time.

Check out Houston Dairy Maids. I had some from them (i think they ordered and I waited a short time before pickup) and they were great. The grocery store ones are usually shit.
I am not sure if I can fit but I need some help. I am a restaurant owner. The only Polish in Houston Bay Area. We use in our dishes farmers cheese. It is not possible to find it in Houston. Except Phoenicia (too expensive). Does anybody knows any place I can buy it for decent price? I use a lot of it. For now I need to get this from Chicago. I would love to find it here.

Searching for: Red Cow Parmesan. A friend from out of the country is asking me to get him some. Any ideas on where I can get this? He suggested whole foods but the one that I called doesn't have it.

Any suggestions for where to buy a nice cheese/cracker/prosciutto type platter ready to serve (only a few people)? Don't want to piece it all together myself ... *fancy cheeses, not looking for cold cut or cubed cheese type trays!
