  You can purchase comics individual issues of comics in physical form at a local comics shop (check out comicshoplocator.com to find yours), online through a site like mycomicshop.com or midtowncomics.com, or you can buy digital copies from comixology.com. You can also buy collected editions of comics from bookstores like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. You can also find comics at your local library. Comic books are an incredibly varied medium, asking where to start with them is basically like asking where to start with movies. What kind of stories do you want to read?

  my local comic book store in Pacifica frequently runs out too, and I use TFAW in San Francisco or Comic Relief in Berkeley as my fall back position because they usually order a lot more copies of everything. I also will order online from midtowncomics.com because unlike TFAW's online store, you can specify the variant cover if you want to, and they don't charge extra for it. That comic book convention in San Jose sounds great, I didn't know they would have such a good selection of guests! I have some Terry Moore books I should get autographed, including a Willow & Tara for which he did the artwork. - Maribeth
