About us
Lucky Labs Rescue is an all volunteer group of really hard working people that have a common passion for saving as many Labrador Retrievers as possible. Located in the greater Charlotte, NC area, Lucky Labs often rescues into Tennessee, and South Carolina as well as all over North Carolina.
Lucky Labs is an approved 501(c)(3) rescue and all donations are tax deductible. Company matching gifts are accepted too!

OUR PROCESS
Lucky Labs get most of their dogs from local high kill shelters in North and South Carolina. We rescue many just a day before they are to be euthanized. We have volunteers that work daily with local shelters to learn of new dogs that are surrendered.
When Lucky Labs Rescue brings a lucky lab into our rescue, each one is immediately vetted for vaccines, spayed or neutered, tested for heartworms, and wormed for intestinal parasites. The dogs are temperament tested and are put onto our foster program while they await their furever homes.
Once someone sees a lab they are interested in and an application has been completed, Lucky Labs Rescue does a phone interview, checks the vet reference that is provided by the prospective adopter, and then we do a home visit. The home visit is very important. This is a great time to discuss nutritional needs, housebreaking, etc. with the adoptive family to see if they have any questions. We require each of our dogs to be kept inside at night, no exceptions. We make sure the family understands that any pet has to be treated as "a member of the family". We encourage families to participate in obedience classes if necessary. Lastly, we discuss the exercise options for the dog. Labs are energetic dogs that need proper exercise.
DONATIONS
Lucky Labs Rescue spends an AVERAGE of $600 per dog that we rescue. Our adoption fee is only $275 for adult dogs and $300 for puppies, so... show more we survive on your generous donations! Additionally, we also accept donations of food, crates, collars, leashes, etc.
