  Am on the cusp of finally winning the "I won't die if I commute by bike" debate at home (going from these parts to Hackney and back via Greenwich). Two questions for old hands: any recommendations for a decent commuting machine; and is anyone a massive bike collecting fanatic with loads in the shed including one they wouldn't mind lending/renting out for a couple of weeks in exchange for cash / swanky bike clothes / much gratefulness / etc?
