About us

This is the official adoptions page of the Tshwane SPCA. We will try and update as much as possible.

Anything not dealing with adoptions see our main Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TshwaneSPCA

All adoptions are subject to the signing of an adoption contract and approval of a home check. Adopters who rent or live in a complex need a letter of permission to keep a pet from landlord/body corporate. Cruelty complaints take priority over home checks, so there may be a delay in getting home checks done. Once the home check is approved, the animal is sterilised, microchipped, dewormed and vaccinated and when ready, we will contact you to come and collect the animal.

Adoption fees are R540 for cats, R740 for dogs and R890 for puppies and kittens under 6 months old. An initial non-refundable deposit of R200 must be paid and once the home check has been approved, the balance must be paid.

All "adopters" must come into the kennels personally to meet the animal. Any existing dogs must also come in to meet the potential "adoptee". We also have to abide by the municipal by-laws stipulating how many animals are allowed on a property.

Where a potential adopter rents and/or lives in a complex we need written permission to keep animals from your landlord and/or body corporate.

Animals too young to be sterilised cannot be adopted out to homes outside of the Tshwane Metro.

We are open for adoptions Monday-Friday 08:00 till 16:30 and Saturdays 08:00 till 12:00.

Any queries on adoption please call 012 8035219 (Waltloo, 316 Petroleum St) reception@spcapta.org.za or 012 6645644 (Centurion, Kruger Avenue, Lyttelton) centurion@spcapta.org.za- please quote kennel and disc number.

We reserve the right to delete any posts from our page. Any notices of found animals will be deleted as people are capable of many things...
1. Unscrupulous people claim stray animals as they know that they only pay a small fee for unsterilised animals which can be used for breeding
2. This is quick source of... show more
obtaining animals for Security companies or private security at businesses
3. Many animals are used for baiting or teasers in dog fighting
4. A large number are sent over our borders to other African states with little or no animal welfare legislation to be used for various purposes
5. Animals are sold on for a profit
