My love for upcycling and crafting started back in 2011 when I gave birth to my beautiful daughter and I wanted her room to look unique and different. I didn't want her to have the usual pink and girly room but instead a more grown up and vintage looking room. I bought an old chest of drawers, painted it a deep mauve, changed the drawer knobs to brass ones and I really thought that it was a beautiful piece for a little girls room. But then it blossomed into me painting and changing chairs, picture frames and anything I could get my hands on. Friends would comment on how homely my house would look and so I would make items for them too. Then I thought that I should make my love for crafting and making things into something a bit more permanent and so other people can enjoy my knick knacks too.
That's where Up In A Bow came in. My other half had the brains to think of the name, the Up represents the upcycling and the Bow represents the gift of giving...and I also love Bows! Each item I make has a bow in some way printed, painted or put onto it either visible or hidden. My three year old daughter is also my co-worker. She likes to have some sort of input, either it be the colours I use or the placement of the little pieces. She's a tough one to please but because of her back in 2011 Up In A Bow is here today.
I also work full-time so my life is very fast paced but I wouldn't change a thing about it. I am a people person and working in retail for eight years has made me like this. Because of this I understand great customer service and the little and big ways to make the customer happy. Either it be to go all the way to make the product the customer wants perfect, down to the final painted spot or to package the product beautifully, just so when that package arrives through their letter box the customer cant wait to open it yet doesn't want to ruin the lovely wrapping.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to message me, I am always here to help and answer any... show more
