Hi everyone, I have a small bakery/cafe where we have used a cash register for 10 years, now are looking to switch to POS system. We are looking at iPad based options because they seem to have the smallest footprint for our counter and the cost is less.
I searched through a number of posts in this group about POS systems and it seems like TouchBistro, Square, and Shopkeep keep coming up.
Square and Shopkeep do not allow the exemptions for the 8% tax on purchases under $4 or 6 of the same items having no tax. Does everyone using these programs just charge the wrong tax or manually exempt purchases?
TouchBistro does have all the proper tax exemptions built in so it seems like the only option, but is quite expensive per month.
Does anyone have a different POS system they can recommend that works with the weird tax rules and doesn't cost $70+ per month? Thanks!
