Does anyone know of a groomer that can handle needy dogs? I have a shih tzu who is a rescue. He is difficult to handle especially around the face area.

Barks on Bay in Highlands www.barksonbay.com - they do a great job with Rescues... the owner Fosters rescues! She’s great with dogs, and prices are reasonable too.

I appreciate everyone suggesting Barks on Bay. I know the Alan’s and they are lovely people and their pup is an absolute doll on the floor. He has a major case of fear aggression. He will let you do things but then something will trigger him to not trust you and he will snap. It can be quick too, so the groomer must be very careful. He also hates to be muzzled so that makes it worse. I’ve tried everything I can think of, but I will share these tips with his next groomer in hopes they can work with him!
He LOVES the dryer! So I found that if I keep the dryer on him, and use the clippers with the dryer on, you can groom pretty much his entire backend up to the back of his shoulder blades this way.
I really love this little pup and it was sad to say that I couldn’t work with him, but if his next groomer has any questions, please feel free to call me at 732-540-1330. I will be more than happy to give you the notes that I have on him about what triggers and non triggers he has. Good luck to the Alan’s and I hope you find the perfect fit for you and your pup!!!
Hi neighbors! So, a puppy joined our family over the summer, and now that he has had his vaccines all updated, I'd like to take him to get groomed. Any suggestions???? He's a mini golden doodle, so his hair is a bit wild! Lol!!!

http://barksonbay.com/ does a good job at a good price, support Rescues (the owner Fosters too), and is even having a fundraiser today for their local elementary school (nail trim, ear clean - 1-4 pm). Nice people.

Recommendations for a reputable dog groomer in the area of Middletown. Specifically ones that do not keep all dogs together in a bunch (our dog is a rescue and is scared of other dogs), if anyone knows of a place, please comment! Thank you!

My dog has NEVER looked better since Barks on Bay opened. He's been there twice since they opened for a bath, hair cut and nails trimmed. It's in Highlands and they have great hours, too!
