We've just moved house, had a photovoltaic system installed, and British Gas will only pay us for 50% of the electricity we generate, rather than for the 75% of what we generate that gets exported to the grid. Mandi P. replied:Hi Carol, we've recently moved & looked into utility providers and, as I recall, Ovo (who are the energy co behind Woodland Trust Energy) had yet to have their fuel-mix published, which made it challenging for us to draw conclusion on their ethics at this time If it helps any, looking at where fuel comes from (i.e. was it fracked!), customer service, cost and environmental considerations/return, we reached a point where our choice was between Good Energy & Ecotricity. Good Energy 'won' our utilities as they do not use G4S (that nasty security company!) for checking meters (I know, sounds trivial, but I really do not trust the governments so-called 'private army' !x!) Not sure if any of this helps you at all, but thought I'd share our experiences as it was only last month x
