  UPDATE: Well you guys we decided on going to go check out the Smithsonian!❤ it's something we've both have had on our bucket list so we are going to take this opportunity to do just that! Its a few hours longer than what we wanted to travel in distance but it'll be well worth it! I want to thank everyone for your recommendations they all look very lovely!   I need some suggestions again for a getaway to Hocking Hills, Ohio. I found a place for my husband & I to go but can't find an affordable place for our family to stay on a separate trip. We are a family of 6. Every place I find that sounds perfect ends up requiring an additional charge of $15-20 per person after 2 people! That is way too much! Can anyone tell me of a place to check out ? I'm also considering going to Erie as an option. I liked the suggestion of staying in Port Clinton or near that area. Can anyone tell me of accommodations to look into? I am hoping for a cabin, cottage or house.

  it's a bit of a drive, but Getawaycabins.com in Hocking hills ohio has just what you are looking for, and they are very reasonably priced. if you want closer, look into raccoon state park, of near slippery rock, tionesta, franklin or oil city.
