About us
Hello! My name is Alice, thank you for taking the time to look at my Facebook page. Here you will find a collection of my creative works from digital illustrations, to logo and corporate branding design, to photography. I love working with people, animals and nature and the best part of my job is helping people bring their visions and dreams to life.
I grew up in a magical little town in Northern California called Nevada City; that is where my imagination started to flourish. I got my Associate of Science degree at Western Nevada College and I am currently working towards getting my Bachelor's degree at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Creativity is in my blood. My grandfather designed the well-known ‘Samsonite’ logo as well as the original 'Alcoa' logo back in the 50's and my father is known for some popular vintage photography of Bob Dylan and friends back in the 60’s. I guess you could say I inherited the creative gene.
I also inherited something else though – a stutter. This isn’t all bad, however. I have turned my speech impediment into a positive and decided to help others with the same struggles and honestly without my stutter, I wouldn’t be who I am today. One of my college essays, “I Stutter” was recently published in the fall 2015 edition of the National Stuttering Association’s Newsletter, “Letting Go”.

About Violet Light Designs: Violet is not only one of Alice's favorite colors; violet also stimulates the imagination and inspires high ideals. It is an introspective color, allowing us to get in touch with our deeper thoughts. Purple and violet represent the future, the imagination and dreams, while spiritually calming the emotions. The color violet relates to the fantasy world, and a need to escape from the practicalities of life. It is the daydreamer escaping from reality. Violet encourages creative pursuits and seeks inspiration and originality through its creative endeavors. It likes to be... show more unique, individual and independent, not one of the crowd. Artists, musicians, writers, poets and psychics are all inspired by violet and its magic and mystery.

“I have to admit I was skeptical when Alice* told me I needed to get involved with ‘social media’ if I wanted to create a market for my vintage 1960s rock and roll photography. In spite of my doubts, I figured I had nothing to lose and told her go ahead and put up a business page for me on Facebook. I didn’t think having a Facebook page would make much difference one way or another, but was I wrong. I had not considered how many people there were on the Internet and how easy it was to reach them.
In the less than three weeks since Alice put up a Dale Smith Photography Facebook page, the page has generated 13,000 visits and nearly 500 ‘likes’ and ‘shares.’ That’s 13,000 people who would otherwise not have known about my photography, and 500 people who had passed along their recommendation to their circle of friends. I now look at social media as if it is a pebble dropped into a pond... the rings that initial action generates radiate outward into the world, going on and on, working tirelessly to let people know about my work... even while I am sleeping.
If you have a business or a service that you want to promote on the internet, and you, like me, don’t feel technically savvy enough to do it yourself, I would highly recommend you turn your promotion over to Alice to create a page. She will get your page up and running, join interest groups that will drive people to your page, and monitor the results and report back to you. No one is going to buy your product or engage your services if they don’t know about you. Getting the word out about your work is what it’s all about, and Alice is very good at that.”
