About Me
My passion for beauty started shortly after I was born in the great city of Buffalo. Much of my inspiration stemmed from my father, who always encouraged me to either become a cosmetologist or a seamstress, because he said it’s a job that I can take anywhere!
I can remember when I started to get into beauty, at a mere 8 years old. My second grade teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I knew I wanted to be a beautician.
My professional career kicked off when I began attending the Continental School of Beauty in 1998, where I learned the in and out of cosmetology. From hair styling, coloring, straightening and perms, to facials, waxing, nails and makeup I learned it all. I found that my true talents were in the area of waxing, facials, updos and make-up, as it was in those areas where I excelled the most.
I started working at a local salon with one of my talented dear friends/salon owner (DT Glamor Loft) Theresa Jahmi. Instantly she recognized my talent and referred all of her makeup/waxing/special occasion customers to me. She then encouraged me to branch off and work my talent with MAC cosmetics. Along the way I gained more experience, and later met the sweet and talented Karen Torres, also a salon owner (Fringe New York) who quickly became a good friend.
I currently work with all 3 locations on an on-call basis and have my own freelance business, Beauty by Yaz.
My other passion is traveling and exploring different parts of the world. I don't like to stay in one place so I have a very flexible schedule and will come to you (on location) by request.
To this day, I continue to explore different aspects of beauty in the makeup world. I've done makeup and hair for local fashion shows, weddings, photo shoots, holidays, birthdays, engagements, commercials, music videos, stage performances, tv appearances...etc. I've also done females and males of all skin types and all ages. Meanwhile I work hard to keep up with the trends and gain as much... show more experience as humanly possible.
I love what I do and want to share my talent and make everyone feel and look beautiful. I have a lot of patience and can work under any circumstance and conditions.
Make-up and hair are my passion, and I hope that I can share that passion with you.
