The Shetland Pony Welfare Trust is a Registered UK Charity. Set up as a Trust in 1990 for the rescue and rehabilitation of shetland ponies. In 2000 the Trust gained charitable status . Due to the current economic climate it has now become necessary for us to offer sanctuary to all breeds of equines. Our aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and find foster homes for ponies that are suitable for our rehoming program. Ponies are only ever rehomed as companions never sold and always remain in the ownership of the charity. SPWT receives no government funding and relies on public donations . All funds raised via our charity fundrasing events go directly to help support the rescued ponies in our care. S.P.W.T also operates its own rehoming database to help assist owners to connect with registered rehomers. If you would like to find out more about our charity and its work please visit our website. www.theshetlandponywelfaretrust.co.uk
