  yes I happen to live in a fifty year old house and did extensive renovations on it as well as it being what my company specializes in. I would be delighted to help you. Usually that vintage is well built and easy to develop but its important to be very thoughtful because often its the addition that can break the integrity of the design so its important to make them seamless and seam like they have always been there. This usually or at least often requires some modifications to the existing floorplan as well.   I have a couple of people in mind..the best one I just gave another job to, so he is booked until late july now. Will ask around, but you might be waiting until august, as they are all getting busy. you might try monica kaiser 613-745-6627 she does great work, very inovative, and a great woman carpenter.
