Solid dentist recommendations? Heya, Brooklyn based. Terrified of dentists and also don't have the best dental insurance (Aetna), however I suspect I need a root canal.
If you know an affordable dentist with good bedside manner, could you please let me know? Anywhere in the boroughs is fine.

[Dr. Sonny Oliva!](http://www.olivadds.com/) He's the "zentist," so perfect for those of us who are scared or hate going. They give you a weighted blanket for teeth cleanings, mood music, etc. He and the whole staff are really lovely people and while I still can't say I'm ever excited to go to the dentist, he's really made me do a 180 in terms of anxiety around it. I can't speak to Aetna specifically, but I've never had any trouble with insurance there. (52 nd between 5 th and Madison in Manhattan)
Please recommend a *great* dentist! I think I need a filling that may require a root canal. Looking for someone with "golden hands" who is set on keeping as many teeth as possible, not someone extraction-happy. Personal recommendations are most welcome. HUGE thanks in advance!
New Yorkers, help me out... I need recs for a good dentist, obgyn, shrink (all of whom take blue cross) and also need a +1 for an amazing music salon event tonight in the lower east side. Anyone wanna come?
