1. Le Petite Maison - 54 Brooks Mews, London, W1K 4 EG - Telephone: 02074954774. They change the menu often, but you will not be disappointed. Must try as much as you can: Burrata, Rib Eye, Sea Bream, Lobster & Crab Salad, Octopus Carpaccio, and Crème Brulee. Also try a great red wine – Givry, premiere cru. 2. JW Steakhouse - 86 Park Lane, Mayfair, London, W1K 7TL - Telephone: 020 7399 8460. London has never had great steak (compared to US), but this is pretty close. 3. Umu – 14 -16 Bruton Place, London, W1J 6LX - Telephone: 020 7499 8881 Suggest you try - Oysters with ponzu sauce & spring onion, toro tsukuri foie gras, and the best thing - foie gras sushi with lily root & mushroom. The mains are good, but not great. You should stick to sushi & starters. 4. Le Relais De Venise - 120 Marylebone Lane, London, W1U 2QG Telephone: 020 7486 0878 They only serve sliced steak. Do order profiteroles for desert, and expect to find a queue outside! 5. Scalini 1-3 Walton Street, London, SW3 2JD. Closest Tube: Knightsbridge. Tel: 020 7225 2301 Must try: Vol au Vents with Scampi / Prawn / Lobster, Baked Avocado with Crab, and their signature Lobster with Spaghetti (yes, it’s better than Signor Sassi!). 6. Patara 9 Beauchamp Place, London SW3 1NQ. Closest Tube: Knightsbridge Tel: 0207 581 8820 7 Maddox St., London W1S 2QB. Closest Tube: Oxford Circus. Tel: 0207 499 6008 The best modern Thai fine dine in the capital. Must try: Slow Braised Beef with Coconut, Fresh Lime, Lemongrass & Chilli. My mouth is already watering.. 7. Burger & Lobster 29 Clarges Street, Mayfair, London W1J 7EF. Closest Tube: Green Park. Tel: 020 7409 1699 Must try: Lobster Roll. Byron does a great burger. 8. Colbeh 6 Porchester Place, London, W2 2BS. Closest Tube: Marble Arch. Tel: 020 7706 4888 Must Try: Spicy Chicken Wings, Hummus with freshly baked bread, Chelo Kabab Chenjeh and Spicy Koobideh. Butter your rice, add green chili paste, and things are about to get a whole lot better.. 9. Laduree – A nice place to stop for some afternoon tea & deserts. It’s in Harrods. Try the hot chocolate with Chantilly cream on the side. Harrods also have The Sea Grill (good for cod & chips) & The Pizzeria (fresh pizzas & pastas). 10. The Wolsely (160 Piccadilly, London W1J 9EB, 020 7499 6996) has always been a famous breakfast place (I went there once a week for client meetings), but Richoux (multiple locations) has the best eggs benedict! Get a portion of Cumberland sausages on the side. 11. Borough Market – open on Thurs / Fri / Sat. Closes at 5 pm. A great place for foodies! www.boroughmarket.org.uk 12. The Greenhouse - 27 a Hay's Mews, Mayfair, London, W1J 5PY Telephone: 020 7499 3331 Modern French restaurant. 13.
