  WE NEED A VACATION & IF I AM FEELING AT LEAST 50%, we want to go to the ocean or the mountains. Who knows of a reasonable place in either locale? We would like to be able to see the ocean or a nice view in the mountains. Thinking of second week in September & HOPING THERE IS A REASONABLE PLACE THAT you would recommend. Doesn't have to be super fancy, but definitely clean & dog friendly but not necessary as we have a friend living here who can take care of all our animals. I can rest there as well as at home & it has been too many years since we got away. It is time! Suggestions?

  http://cambriashores.com/ Hi Carol, this is an adorable hotel in Cambria, it is dog friendly. People drink wine and watch the sun set with their dogs in the front yard of the hotel. There is a wooden walkway on the beach which is across the street. It does take at least 4 hours drive from L.A. though.
