THE ADJUSTMENT- $19.00
Spinal adjustment, also known as a chiropractic adjustment, is performed for the purpose of restoring full motion to the joints of the spine. Through direct injury or repetitive stress, supporting tissues of the spine can become damaged, resulting in abnormal motion patterns which can affect nearby discs and nerves. Adjustment of the affected joints restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and allowing the surrounding tissues to heal.
THE THERAPIES*- $5.00
Electric stim is used to reduce muscle spasms and decrease the associated pain. Electrodes are placed around the affected area, and a low-level electrical current is transmitted through the tissues. During the acute phase of a condition, electric stim can greatly reduce healing time.
Ice is used to reduce inflammation (swelling) during the acute phase of a condition. By lowering the temperature of the affected area, metabolic activity is slowed down and pain is reduced.
Intersegmental Traction is used to help restore elasticity to the tissues surrounding the spine. It is accomplished by lying on a special table which contains rollers which slowly travel up and down the length of the spine massaging the muscles and stretching spinal joints. As the rollers gently separate the vertebrae, circulation around the intervertebral discs is increased, thus slowing the degenerative process.
Moist Heat is used to relax tight muscles and... show more increase blood flow to affected areas. This increased blood flow promotes healing by bringing additional oxygen and nutrients to damaged tissues.
