I just discovered my Siberian Husky, Athelwulf, has arthritis. He is a rescue, so his guessed age is 8. His Vet put him on rimadyl, one half tablet in the morning and one half tablet in the evening, to see if that would help him with getting around and with his pain. We discovered he was in pain when my other husky, Beowulf, stepped on Athelwulf's back leg and Athelwulf lunged at Beowulf and they got in a fight. I want to make sure Athelwulf has the best quality of life possible, but I heard that keeping a dog on rimadyl long-term is not a good option. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does anyone know of any other options for him? Any help or advice would be appreciated, thank you :)
