  I have altered a lot of dresses that have been purchased online and would recommend JJ House or Light in the Box. Both supply well made garments that have been made with good quality fabric and materials. I would suggest that you get someone to measure you (and then check your measurements against their charts rather than just purchased a size that you normally wear as some online manufacturers make them small).
