I'm on the prowl for a good doctor too. I spoke with my little guy's heart specialist who said that paediatricians are hard to come by in Scarborough - that is, specialists in only paediatrics. He said most parents just use their family doctor. That ha ving been said, he recommended a couple of doctors (namely at the clinic at Real Canadian Supercentre at McCowan) but I called and they're not taking new patients! My little guy is due for his first vaccines soon too. My midwife told me yesterday that if I can't find a good doctor in time, that a walk-in clinic would do vaccines if I was worried about getting them done in time. That'll be a last resort though. You could try Platinum Medical clinic at Markham and Eglinton though. It's all female doctors, always accepting new patients, and is a walk-in too, so if you ever need to pop in, at least it's in an office you're familiar with. The waiting room is large and has comfortable chairs, and always has Disney movies playing on a big tv. Dr. Sithamparanathan is great; not sure if she's still there or accepting new patients herself, but she's punctual and logical.
