I used Movers Not Shakers to move furniture and boxed home goods from Brooklyn to Provincetown. They are based in Brooklyn (718) 243-0221 and they are excellent to deal with. I have used them twice and most of my friends in Brooklyn have used them. it'll be hit or miss as to them getting to Provincetown but they do go to Boston quite a bit. I can't remember what they charged but I thought it reasonable.
Mover recommendations? Hi everyone! I have a friend moving from bed stuy (classon g stop) to astoria (broadway and steinway) and she's looking for movers. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Movers? Building requires insured movers so no "man with a van" for me. Any Recommendations? Who do you like, who don't you like?
Thanks

I've used Movers Not Shakers (www.moversnotshakers.com) 3 times and been very happy. In general, make sure you get a flat rate (not by the hour). Get quotes from two movers and have them compete (I usually call FlatRate as well http://www.flatrate.com/). You can usually negotiate the total cost as well as items like free packing boxes, etc... edit: added links
Recommendations for movers?? So my roommates & I are moving from Roosevelt Island to Park Slope this Monday... We are looking to hire movers to help us get the job done but there are so many options out there, it's a little overwhelming to decide on one... Does anyone have have recommendations for good movers they used or warnings about who NOT to use? Thanks!

Used these guys to move all my furniture, they came right on time and they wrapped up my important computers and flat screens with blankets. http://www.moversnotshakers.com/
