The last to service my boiler & fire disconnected my fire without my permission, said he "didn't like flueless fires" as the ventilation, unless blasting through the house, could never be adequate. He then recommended a fire with a flue (exorbitantly expensive) that he would install for me. Now I have no fire and the boiler is losing pressure....I have a carbon monoxide tester...

  Hello all, I sent a message round a little while ago regarding a broken boiler. To cut a long story short british gas came out to do an initial survey as my partner tried to sign up to their homecare service. However as the boiler is essentially knackered theyve cancelled the contract and organised for someone to visit for a quote albeit on the 10th feb!!(i appreciate its a busy time of year). My father in law has had a bad previous experience with british gas quoting double others! Does anyone know any reasonably priced and reputable boiler installers that can help us reduce the cost!! Am i right in assuming realistically i should be expecting approx £2k for boiler+installation?! Many thanks Craig Mitchell
