Cobblers in San Francisco Does anyone have recommendations of shoe repair shops in San Francisco? And can anyone tell me what I can expect to pay to get a pair of shoes resoled?
I'm moving from the UK soon, so I'd like suggestions (and would like to decide if I should get my shoes that are in need of resoling soon done before or after moving).

Check out [Al's Attire](http://alsattire.com/) in North Beach. Not only does he make bespoke shoes and boots, he does repairs too, not to mention is awesome collection of hand made work wear. Al is very friendly and extremely knowledgable about shoes and clothing.
Looking for good tailor, seamstress, bag hacker I am hoping to get recommendations for a few people or services who are good with fabrics:
- A good tailor, to have some shirts altered to fit me better. In the worst case, the shirt would have to be rebuilt almost entirely (it was a lovely hand-dyed indigo shirt, so I got it even though it was much too large for me).
- A seamstress, for some project work (a large birdcage cover, some duvet covers).
- Someone who can hack a messenger bag—specifically, I'm hoping to modify a Rickshaw laptop bag to replace the stock outer fabric with a much-loved printed fabric from a previous messenger bag. For someone good with webbing, I was also hoping to get a cross strap made for a different shoulder bag I already have.
All three might be the same crafty person or service, or, I'd be happy to hear recommendations for places to go for any individual thing. Thanks for the help SF Redditors!
