  Hi Curt. Try this restaurant one night. The chef is a big "tip to tail" guy and serves interesting cuts of meat: http://incanto.biz/. Also, go for a hike in Muir Woods http://www.nps.gov/muwo/index.htm. Pack a picnic and rent a car and drive there and then take your own hike. No need for the tour guide, etc. The drive there is fantastic and you will get some of the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Have fun.
