I have just messaged Yvonne Fernandes with regards to how to get some traffic calming measures put in place in and around our neighbourhood. In light of the very tragic and heartbreaking accident this weekend on Robert Ferrie I am all for some measures to be put in place. I live on Robert Ferrie and everyday all day people are speeding down it. It is such an easy road to get a lot of speed on as it is a long straight road with no stops for quite some time. I also live near the new roundabout and people go around that so fast with no regards for pedestrians and I have two children who need to cross that each day from their bus. Doon South Drive and Thomas Slee are also areas of concern. Personally I think more needs to be done then just narrowing the road at certain parts, nobody slows down for that. Just this morning right at Doon South and Doon Village Road people were driving two abreast and speeding down and that's a school zone, kids crossing and being let off! I would hope as a community we can come together and try to get something in place to slow everyone down. We have a lot of children in the area and a lot of active people out and about. I'm curious to know if anyone has ever attempted to try to talk to someone about this? Police, City of Kitchener?
