  I need to spay my 9 month old puppy Boston, but it is crazy expensive in Austin. The quotes I am getting from the few vets around me are around $400 - $500. I remember paying around $150 in Fort Worth at my old vet. Does anyone recommend anyone more reasonable? I have put it off long enough and really need to get this done soon! thanks in advance for your help!

I don't want to take any chances but that's a price differential a self-employed artist has to consider. Anyone know anything about Emancipet? Or can anyone recommend a reasonably priced option?

  I think it depends on your idea of 'affordable' I find http://www.animaltrustees.org/ decent service, the meds (depending on what your preferences are) aren't always in stock, but overall the shots/6 month heart worm etc are cheaper as they are non-profit, but I still find overall yearly visits ~200 (including a 6 month supply of heart worm & flea meds). My GF also works for a mobile vet who she speaks amazingly highly of (both ethically & in general of sometimes finding alternative/cheaper ways of treatment, etc.) though I don't know the prices http://www.doctorbendalls.com/
