  Does anyone know if there is any kind of list of locals who shouldn't have pets? Like the people you constantly see posting ISO dogs, then turning around and giving them up, over and over. Or the people whose animals are mistreated and neglected. Someone should start a list like that. Also, when considering who to give a large breed dog to, you should avoid giving them to renters who aren't suppose to have large breed dogs and or will eventually move somewhere that doesn't allow large breed dogs. Those dogs frequently end up in the pound.

  From an experienced camper: 1. ADVANCE RESERVATIONS are an ABSOLUTE MUST during peak season. Campgrounds can be booked full for months in advance. 2. If the place/date is full, check reservation system daily for 10 days prior - can sometimes snag an opening due to late cancellations. (Got a "prize" hook-up site at Serrano, Big Bear for last weekend that way.) 3. Peak season is weekends Apr-Oct and daily mid-Jun to mid-Sep (except in desert campgrounds where peak is Oct to Apr weekends) 4. Reservations for state, national and Orange County sites: www.reserveamerica.com 5.
