Looking for a barber in South Austin Hello Austin redditors! I have recently decided to try growing out some facial hair and I'm about a month into it. I could really use some suggestions on a barber who does really well with shaping/styling beards. I have no experience in this area and have no idea what I'm looking for or doing...Halp!

I've been going to Ryan at The Good life Barber shop on 5 th for years. It's run by a Son and Mother team, good folks. http://thegoodlifebarbershop.com/
Looking for a good Barbershop in Austin Hello everyone, I'm new to the Austin area, and I was wondering what are the best Barbershops that specifically are known for cutting fades and such. I usually get a high fade fauxhawk haircut, and am hard pressed in finding a good shop. My range is $20-$30. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good place for a "vintage" haircut in Austin (or just a salon you'd recommend)? Despite living in Austin for 3 years, I've never actually gotten a haircut here. I saw an article in /r/malefashionadvice about getting a [vintage haircut](http://swungover.wordpress.com/2013/11/06/the-art-of-vintage-manliness-the-vintage-haircut/), and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions as to where I might find a good barber.
I've had a few friends recommend (just in general) Hyde Park Barber Shop, so I'm thinking of checking them out, but I figured there was no better place to ask than reddit!
Thanks everyone!

Barber recommendations? I'm new to Austin and need a haircut. I prefer cheap, old school, local barbers to ridiculously expensive hair stylists or national chains. Preferably $10-15 before tip and straight razor back of head / neck cleanup. Any recommendations?
Yes, I did search and found [this old discussion](http://www.reddit.com/r/Austin/comments/dbo0g/male_austin_redditors_just_wondering_if_anyone/) but my request is a little different.
Edit: I intentionally left off the area so we could get a larger list, but I currently live in Terrytown.

[The Good Life Barber Shop](http://thegoodlifebarbershop.com/) downtown is great and reasonably priced ($22 for a normal cut).
