About us
Artists In Jackson is a portrait project featuring 15 creatives from Jackson, Michigan. The project tells their story in pictures, and contains a profile of each artist -- their background, their challenges, and their opportunities. In all, it tells the story of what it means to be a local artist in a small Midwestern city.
I took the summer and early autumn to contact each artist, sit down with them for a short interview, and photograph them working on a creative project.
The project was my way to highlight the creative work going on in the city from people who live and work here, and who are (mostly) from here. Personally, it was a way for me to meet the artists who are trying to make our city a more beautiful place.
