Anyone have luck finding a psychiatrist/psychologist with openings lately? I have a friend who lives in SF who has been struggling a lot lately (erratic behavior, substance abuse, severe depression/anxiety/paranoia, etc). I am trying to refrain from calling any kind of emergency services but I am really worried about him. He's been trying to seek help but all the psychiatrists/clinical psychologists he's reached out to have had no openings, which seems quite common due to covid. I believe his health insurance is MHN which seems to limit his options.
Wondering if anyone has any leads on someone who might have an opening soon (looking specifically for a psychiatrist/clinical psychologist, not a LICSW/therapist)?
Thanks in advance, any help is very very much appreciated.

Therapist recommendations in the bay area? My wife asked me to help her find a therapist. I have no idea how to do this, so I am soliciting suggestions. Any one have a therapist they can recommend in SF or the East Bay? Or maybe some tips on what to look for when researching what therapist/psychologist might be a good fit for someone?

Try joinreflect.com. You get paired with a few therapists based on a quiz and get to screen them on a phone or video call before committing to a paid session.
[Question] Looking for a local psychiatrist. Hi all,
So I just moved to San Francisco from San Diego just about a month ago and I'm trying to find an affordable psychiatrist since I can't really get what I need from my psychiatrist in San Diego. I've been going to one for about 6 years now and usually they were reasonably priced but now I haven't been able to find one that doesn't charge 400$ first time and 250$ after that, which is way above what I'm used to or can afford. I would really love some suggestions as I'm getting a bit worried by my lack of luck...
Thanks!
p.s. I already posted this on the San Fran sub reddit but then I was suggested to post it on here as well.

Check out reflect: http://www.joinreflect.com/ I've had a good experience with them but will be trying out Kaiser as it is more affordable to go more often then. It's a great option if you don't have Kaiser but do consider Kaiser if your employer offers it and you're still deciding. Super happy with the insurance as a whole.
