  Computer repair stores that can do a specific task? So I’m looking for any computer repair stores that are familiar with reflashing EEPROM chips on the motherboard in laptops. I thought of the possibility of doing it myself but I am not at all familiar with the process. I wanted to make some calls to a bunch of stores in Atlanta but almost all of the more popular stores are closed today. I was hoping that maybe I could get some responses here.   I recommend hitting up screenfixing.com in East Atlanta Village. They are one of the only shops in town I know of that do board level work. As a bonus, the owner is a super good human who has done a TON for the community.

  I can also recommend screenfixing.com in EAV, but to be honest, $90-100 is already on the low end of what it’s going to cost anywhere you go. The replacement screen itself will run between $35-80 on its own depending on where they source the part from, and labor is typically going to run between $50-80/hr anywhere you go. If you’re feeling technical you might save yourself some cash buy trying to replace the screen yourself - if not you’ll probably be better off replacing the phone in this case. If you had an iPhone or something more expensive it makes sense to pay for the repair but probably not in this case. Either way, good luck.
