  I have attended many of the JGSG's events, although the group has been quite inactive recently. The events are usually very informative if you are looking for such a group. There is no formal membership, but It has a loose affiliation with the Breman Museum, which sometimes provides meeting space. For research, the Breman museum, thebreman.org, has a small library and archive, some of which has been digitized and some has not, including oral histories of Atlanta's Jewish residents. The Southern Jewish Historical Society is more regional, jewishsouth.org.
