#Allergymoms, do you have any suggestions?
"My 8yo son is allergic to peanuts, unbaked dairy, and unbaked eggs. He had previously tested "slightly positive" to some tree nuts, but for a couple years he has been eating walnuts and pecans safely. Last year he passed a food challenge for almonds and has been eating those safely too. We recently received the okay from his allergist to try all tree-nuts, as long as they are safe from peanuts. He tried pistachios under my monitoring at home and those were fine too. My question is: where can I buy peanut-free tree nuts? It seems the nuts we have tried are easier to find than some other nuts, which often seem to come it mixes with peanuts. He is excited to get to try new nuts and I want to help him with this. I also want the first time he eats any nut to be at our home. I'm thinking of nuts like cashews, brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, and anything else you can think of! Thanks for any advice or experience you can provide."
