Hi I'm Helen, thank you for stopping by my page for my business,Shiny Bright Designs.
I adore vibrant colour and have always enjoyed being crafty and making gifts for family and friends. So when a friend of mine gave me a jewellery making kit, as a gift for my birthday a few years ago, I fell totally head over heels in love with the craft.
I suffered a ruptured brain Aneurysm in 2011, I am so lucky to still be here. I was cycling alone in Hackney Marshes, East London, and the next thing I knew, it was 2 days later as I woke up in a Hospital bed. I was given a 25% chance of survival. It took me 3 months to make a full recovery, but in early 2015 it emerged that I needed more surgery as the Aneurysm had become unstable once more. This is when I decided that life was too short, it was time to take the plunge, and I decided to embark on the adventure of starting my own company, Shiny Bright Designs.
Most of my pieces are inspired by nature and are very colourful., I love to work with resin which enables me to capture the beauty of flowers, leaves, feathers. and other natural materials. Resin is a material that is only limited by your imagination, it can be moulded into many forms and colours, so therefore I am fully open to custom pieces. Tell me your ideas, and I may just be able to bring them to life.
My background is in Retail, with over 16 years of experience. The last 5 years I have been a Customer Service Team Leader for a very well known retailer, so I would like to think I know a little about how to deliver great service and create a positive shopping experience. It is an amazing feeling when you find something you love and are passionate about. I adore learning about new techniques and materials in jewellery making. My aim is eventually to give up the day job, and to work full time on Shiny Bright Designs.
