About us
As identified, giving children the best experiences that promote all aspects of their emotional well-being are essential for the rest of their lives. At Art of Genius we focus of six identified areas that promote children’s Personal, Social and Emotional wellbeing; Good Mental Health: Socialising – Self-discipline, Co-operation, Social Awareness, Empathy, Sharing / Turn taking and Impulse control (self-regulation). Communication- Making it clear, effective and positive. Learning through play- EYFS, Schema, Skills for life and Activities (music and dance, crafts, creativity, developing imaginations, joint sustained thinking, storytelling and drama). Positive Self-Esteem- Attachment, Confidence, Self-Worth and Unconditional Positive regard. Positive thinking- Can achieve and Will achieve, Problem solving and Creative / Divergent thinking. Emotional Intelligence- Recognising Emotions, Using Emotions, Understanding Emotions, Managing Emotions and Dealing with Anxiety.
These Six identified areas will be incorporated throughout our practices intrinsic linking these in with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The EYFS sets the standards that all early years’ providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. Within this Framework there are seven early learning goals: The Three prime areas The Four Specific areas Communication and language Literacy Physical development Mathematics Personal, social and emotional development Expressive Arts and design Understanding of the world
For parents/carers to fully understand these areas of learning we will work in partnership with them so their child’s targets can be achieved both at home and within our setting.
