About us

HillTop Kennels, LLC, is owned and operated by Josh and Mallory Guthrie. We offer short to long term boarding and dog training ranging from basic obedience up to advanced training covering a variety of principles. Mallory graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Zoology with minors in Psychology and Criminology. She worked for Auburn University's Vet School training dogs for research projects while attending the university. Upon graduating from Auburn, Mallory worked for PetSmart as head dog trainer for three years. Mallory then went back to work for Auburn University in Anniston, AL at their Canine Detection Training Center where she was employed as a Canine Instructor II for 3 years before Josh and Mallory started a family and decided to open their own business here in Pell City. Mallory's educational and work experience have provided her the ability to train dogs with even the most challenging behavioral problems. We know one of the main reasons dogs end up in shelters is due to behavioral issues that can often be fixed with just a few weeks of training. We are committed to providing excellent service resulting in well behaved pets that are a joy to have as a part of your family. We are fairly priced and offer a wide variety of services. I am looking for someone to board 2 dogs for 8 days. They are good dogs but are a bit rambunctious. One is smallish 10lbs the other is a bit larger at around 80lbs. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Our boarder has closed up shop.
