  Today i am asking you to please help me get this message across the world as soon as possible. we need help. All the help we can get. A message from a mother: Is there anybody out there that can advise or help me. My son Shane is severe Aspergers and bipolar. He has daily meltdowns resulting in severe body harm. He was admitted to a psychiatric hospital 2 days ago and kept on suicide watch while they tried to stabilize his medication. He needs to be there for 3 weeks to a month so that he can have therapy to help him cope with life in the future. The medical aid is depleted as he has been seeing specialists weekly. We need around R100 000 as hospital costs between R3500 and R4000 per day depending on treatment for the day. Does anyone have any knowledge of support groups or charities that could help us. I am desperate, my child needs help to survive. Please guys, this will only take a second and a lifetime of good conscience will be yours.   Neither Aspergers nor Autism are pmb conditions :(. The only conditions that allow a full 21 days inpatient treatment are substance abuse, major affective disorders eg. Bipolar & schizophrenic or paranoid delusional disorders. Why not call SADAG, a mental health support & advisory group 011 2344837, they may be able to offer advice, or AFA - association for autism 012 9934628. They both have websites as well.
