  International calling subscription to Malta I live in the UK and regularly call friends and family back home in Malta, both landlines and mobiles. Until now, I've used Rebtel's Global Unlimited subscription, which was a bargain at £5 a month. It also allowed me to set up local numbers, which means I could set up local UK phone numbers that route through to specific Maltese contacts. Perfect when I have a low data allowance, but unlimited minutes in my mobile phone contract. Rebtel have pulled Malta from their "growing" list of 51 countries included in their Global Unlimited plan. Does anyone know of any decent alternative, which preferably allows local numbers to be set up for contacts? Skype to Go doesn't include Malta, nor do any other subscriptions I can't find. Pay as you go services seem to cost £0.10 - £0.20 per minute.

  Is it only possible to communicate through landlines and mobile? If you and your family have smartphones/computers, and access to internet, then you can use [Discord](https://discordapp.com/). It's completely free and usually offers much better performance and functionality than Skype. Another solution could also be Facebook's [Messenger](https://www.messenger.com/) application. It is very easy to make video-calls and voice-calls and you can even use it, without having to create a Facebook account.
