About Me
I am an experienced, competent carpenter and throughout my life have done a wide variety of different carpentry work. 90% of my work for over 15 years has been installing and restoring all types of wooden (and laminate) flooring and this is what I most love to do!
I specialize in every aspect of the wooden flooring trade, including:
Bespoke door thresholds, edging, steps, stairs, picture frame matting.
sub-floor preparation (leveling and damp proofing),
all types of flooring installation methods: floating, nail down, glued down and clip system.
finishing perimeters with trims and or skirting boards
sanding and applying all types of finishes.
I have a van kitted out with all the specialist tools required to carry out every step as professionally and efficiently as possible. Even a mobile pop up workshop for when the weathers bad!
I am a perfectionist by nature and my attention to detail is second to none.
I do not finish floors as fast as I can!
I finish floors as well as I can!
I can offer you a bespoke solid wood installation service which means I will machine the flooring itself to make door thresholds, steps, clad stairs, picture frame mats and fireplaces to uniquely suit all types of flooring layouts. The transitional heights in doorways to different floor coverings are seamless whilst still allowing for expansion. This gives the most professional of finishes. Most companies and installers will only use trims and end profiles to cover the cut edges of solid wood flooring in doorways and around fireplaces and mats etc.
I do not install any other type of floor covering! (i.e. carpets, vinyl).
I am fully insured and also CRB vetted.
I predominantly cover Southampton and surrounding areas but will always consider work outside of Hampshire.
