This is the Rabbit Rehome page of the official Cape Town Bunny Hugger Group. We have created this public page to network rabbits in need of homes.
Please make sure to include the following info on all posts:
- Rabbit's Name
- Age (if known)
- Sex
- Is the rabbit sterilized?
- Area
- Contact person with contact details
Please make sure to vet the bun's new parents:
- Are they knowledgeable about rabbits?
- Are they willing to learn?
- Do they know that a rabbit's diet should consist of 80% hay and grass?
- Do they know that rabbits live up to 10 years and is just as much responsibility as a cat or dog?
- Do they know that rabbits need to be handled and held properly and therefor do NOT make good pets for kids (unless under strict supervision)?
- Do they know that rabbits may become aggressive and territorial if not sterilized?
- Will they sterilize the rabbit? (approx. R600 - R1000)
- Will the rabbit be used for breeding? (BIG NO!!)
- Will the rabbit have enough out-of-cage/ run time?
- Can the rabbit escape from the premises?
- Are there other pets in the house hold and are they a danger to the rabbit?
