  Favorite Bike Shops? Hi Portlanders! First off, sorry if there's a more relevant thread I could have posted this in, but I didn't see one. I've just relocated to the city from Austin and am hoping to get set up with a new-to-me used road bike. Does anyone have recommendations for quality bike shops I should check out? I'm looking for something under $500 that will get me around town--no bells and whistles necessary, just a well-priced, solid daily rider. My experiences in the past have taught me that honest shop employees go a long way in terms of finding a solid rig for the right price. Thanks in advance for the tips!

  I got my first bike in Portland at the [Community Cycling Center](https://www.communitycyclingcenter.org). They have a nice selection of used and refurbished bikes for reasonable prices. And they do great things for the bike community! Seconding Gladys as well. [Seven Corners](http://www.7-corners.com/) is also great if you're in SE.

  Everybody's got their opinions on local shops but I got a solid commuter (Surly) from the guys at 7 corners - 7-corners.com - and they are a low-pressure, good crew. (ps you might want to crosspost to /r/cyclepdx)
