This post is from a friend of mine located in the Sandalwood area:
Anyone in Jax know of a person/location that would take in an abandoned shi tzu? Found it on the road, seems pretty healthy, no chip, very friendly

Are they sure it was abandoned by the owner? If not, it could be someone's pet that got loose. If possible, post a photo of the dog with the details. Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services will take the dog -> Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services 2020 Forest St. Jacksonville, FL 32204 (904) 630-2489 (CITY) Intake Hours: Tuesday - Friday 8 am to 12 noon Also, sometimes The Jacksonville Humane Society will take found and stray dogs-> The Jacksonville Humane Society 8464 Beach Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32216 (904) 725-8766
