  Hey guys, do you know where I can rent a flat or room for 2 people for shorter period (up to 1 year) and get empadronamiento for 2. Any agency, any website? Usually places for short stay are double price, agency take the same amount for 10 months stay as for 3 years and they say you cant get empadronamiento. I am coming to look for a job so I also cant present my last 3 months earnings and rent with a "normal" agency. What happened with this city? It is not the same one I was living in 4 years ago!   You can get empadronamiento if you have the rental contract on your name and you can prove you´ve paid the rent. Also, you can easily rent a long-term flat (1 year) without any problem, provided of course you can prove that you are earning enough money to pay the rent. Unfortunately the agencies will always charge the same amount, unless you check SHBarcelona.com, for example. You can choose from short-term, medium-term and long-term. If you rent something for a shorter period of time, you pay less agency fee. But you are completely correct in saying that the market has changed a lot over the last few years. It has definitely become more difficult.
